, Help Launch West Philly’s First Container Toy Store, BLACK DOLLS MATTER

“I am no longer accepting the things I cannot change.
I am changing the things I cannot accept.”
– Angela Y. Davis.

This quote by Angela Y. Davis is a powerful reminder of the importance of taking action toward creating change in the world. It is especially relevant to building self-love, self-esteem, and positive self-image in children of all ages through the representation of black and multi-ethnic dolls. The lack of representation of diverse dolls in mainstream toy stores cannot be accepted. We must change this by creating opportunities for children to see themselves reflected in the toys they play with. That is why Black Dolls Matter LLC is opening West Philadelphia’s first container toy store, Empowered Toys™, home to Black Dolls Matter® located in the West Philly Container Village. This store will provide a space for children to see and interact with dolls that reflect their own experiences and identities. We encourage you to contribute to our GoFundme campaign to make this initiative a reality and help positively impact the community. With your support, we can work towards building self-love, self-esteem, and positive self-image in children through the representation of diverse dolls.
