Created through the Black Dolls Matter® Artplush™ practice, these characters may appear in different fabrics, clothing, colors, and expressions over time while remaining true to who they are.

Why the Artplush™ Family Matters

Dolls have carried culture, identity, imagination, and memory across generations.

Within Black communities, handmade dolls have long reflected the creativity and resourcefulness of the people who made them. Through fabric, yarn, stitching, clothing, form, and story, makers created objects that reflected the people and communities around them.

The Artplush™ Family continues within that tradition while building a world distinctly its own.

Each character begins with identity and intention. Through textile, form, clothing, expression, and story, that identity takes physical shape.

Over time, these characters can appear in new expressions, stories, collections, and creative experiences while remaining true to who they are.
